Christiane O'Hara

Dr. O’Hara holds a BA in Psychology from Swarthmore College, PhD from University of Georgia in Clinical Psychology (minor in Program Evaluation), and completed pre- and post-doctoral training in neuropsychology and rehabilitation medicine at the Atlanta Veterans Administration Medical Center and Emory University Rehabilitation Center.  

As a licensed psychologist, she has worked/ published/presented in the fields of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Traumatic Brain Injury, and issues of Grief and Loss.

Dr. O’Hara is a Founding Member of ISTSS, Lifetime Member of the American Psychological Association and a recipient of the First Professional Service Award given by Georgia Brain Injury Association. Dr. O’Hara conducted a Program Evaluation of the Fort Rucker Outpatient Mental Health Clinic (‘77) and served as the Behavioral Health Consultant to the Family Practice Residency Training Program at Womack Army Hospital, Fort Bragg (’78-’79). She is the Founder and Director of the Center for Psychology and Rehabilitation, Atlanta ’82-‘94; and served as a Consultant at Peachtree Community Re-Entry Services, Shepherd Spinal Center, North Fulton Medical Center, and the Atlanta Area Center for the Blind (intervals between ’83-‘93).  

Her publications include Rehabilitation with Brain Injury Survivors: An Empowerment Approach, 1991, and Cognitive Symptom Checklists, 1993.

Dr. O’Hara is a volunteer psychologist consultant to the outpatient TBI/Functional Recovery Program, Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Fort Gordon (’08-present). She has served as a Consumer Advocate Reviewer for the Department of Defense Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs. She has been a military wife, and has a son in the Army.
