4th Annual War & Health Conference

War & Health ConferenceEmergency USA, Emory University's Rollins School of Public Health, and the Emory University Institute for Human Rights invite you to the 4th Annual War and Health Conference, to be held on March 27, 2010 at Emory School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia.  This year's theme, "Mind, Body, and Soul", allows both the audience and speakers to collaborate across disciplines in exploring the implications of armed conflict on public health, and conceptualizing pathways to reconciliation and recovery.  The conference will provide both global and domestic perspectives by speakers representing the private and public sectors, advocacy groups, and research organizations.   Expected topics include physical trauma, decision-making and resource management in humanitarian crisis settings, mental and psychosocial implications of war, clinical therapy and treatment approaches, and cost to infrastructure.  Proceeds from this event will aid in sponsoring initiatives with Emergency USA, an independent 501c(3), neutral and nonpolitical, humanitarian organization established to provide care to civilian victims of war and of land mines.
